December Daily: Days 20, 21, 22

Hooray for being "caught up."  What a strange feeling in scrapbooking!  Let's be clear: I am caught up in my December Daily.  At this moment.  I'll embrace it.  These three days are terrifically simple.

I used my Ashley G 20 card for today.  I decided to take some of the pics sent to me by my buddy from our staff Christmas party.  It was loud and insane, and she was nutty with a selfie stick she won.  I was so tired, I had to leave early, but it was a great time.  I made a 2 x 2 collage in Photoshop and printed it on a 4 x 6.  A Cathy Zielske journal card and quote card from "Elf" were the icing on the cake.

That quote card was a perfect backing for my Day 21 number card.  Two 4 x 6s for this day, plus some journaling.  Note: Am I brave or what?  A selfie while exercising.  It needed to be included.  Back on the horse!  And the sunshine was so welcome.  Simply documented.

I have run out of the page protectors with 2, 4 x 3s and a 4 x 6.  Guess which design I like best?  So, I just made this look like that design.  No big whoop.  I adhered the pancake pic and number card to the flipside of  one of Day 22's 4 x 6s, as I did not want them wandering.  These two pics and their journaling work for me.  Though I have an itchy finger to embellish the side of the 4 x 6.... hmmmmm...

Christmastime is Here

Yep, It's here!  And I have been making a few cards and gift tags and such.

For my dachshund-loving pal, it had to be done.  Lawn Fawn stamp sets galore, with some Stampin' Up! patterned paper and textured cardstock.

Used a recent My Favorite Things set (that is on backorder now) to create a Thank You to have ready for my Secret Santa tomorrow.

Took a cue from Kristina Werner with this WPlus9 set.  Went pretty simple, and I love the Glossy Accents on the bulbs.

And what would Christmas be without some Stampin' Up!  This set made me laugh every time I saw it.  I bought it a while back and am just now letting it see ink.  Too funny.  Indeed, they are visions.

Card Mojo

I have neglected my first love---cardmaking---for too long.  Scrapbooking has definitely been my main objective for about the last year or so.  I realized looking at some stamp sets that I had many a set that had not seen ink---ever or in a long time.  So, I thought I would try making a card a day, no matter how simple.

Some pals and I started a Pinterest board for our creations.  The fabulous Ann Cox posted this challenge for us.
I rolled a 5.  Here's my submission to the challenge.

Two-card Tuesday

Hey, I might have to make this a habit. It's a catchy title.

Today, I had some of my crafty ladies over, Ann and Karen. We had one of those, "We should get together and craft over Christmas break," discussions, and it actually happened. Yeah us! Later, our friend Jessie brought over milkshakes. Yeah squared!

But, I digress. I had an idea that we should bring a scrap of paper for others to make cards. You know you always have a scrap laying around somewhere. Ann brought over this cute SU! patterned paper from the Pink Flamingo collection. The red floral part is actually the flipside of the yellow floral. I went with the idea, originally, of staying monochromatic. Then I felt some green (Color Box Olive Pastel) ease into the act to edge the circles. It was all flat circles until I saw Ann mass-producing these cute circle flowers, and I knew I had to try one. I have no idea where the button came from, but it seemed to fit just fine. I also inked the edge of the outside of the card with the Olive Pastel and stamped the sentiment (SU! You Make Me Happy) in the same ink. This card makes me happy, especially since I used SU! Summer Sun cardstock on a wintry day.

Yes, I made TWO cards. That's what happens when I hang with these people. I decided to use the other half sheet of SU! Summer Sun cardstock. I had gotten the paisley (Traditions Floral Paisley from The Paper Studio) out for my other crafters and ended up using it myself! I liked that it had a hint of the yellow in it already, and I accented with some SU! Basic Gray. I also used my Fiskars scallop blade to add some fun along the edge. I do not know where I got the ribbon, but I think it matches quite nicely, though I was tempted to use a little Basic Gray taffeta. The sentiment, stamped in SU! Craft White, was from the SU! On Your Birthday set. Making this reminds me to get some cards out to my January 2 birthday relatives! I am always late with those!
