Hold onto your hats, fellow scrapbookers! Big Picture Scrapbooking is hosting another class led by Cathy Zielske. The class, starting in September, is called All About Me. Now, I am a little leery, as I just finished my All About Me Lisa Bearnson album. That was different, though. Very prescribed. This class sounds a little more open to interpretation.
If you want a little taste of the type of work Cathy does, click here. She's hysterical, and I love her very linear design style. She also has great ideas for what to scrap about that I, myself, would not have thought up.
The Scrap Review, one of my favorite new blogs, will be having a raffle next week with some fabulous prizes. The proceeds of the raffle will go to the maintenance of the site. Why bother? Here are my reasons.
#1 They have cool raffle prizes. #2 They review products so you don't have to waste money on something that would not fit your crafting lifestyle. For example, a recent review of the three Cricut machines gave me an idea of why the three exist and why a crafter would choose one over the other (besides price). #3 They have constant giveaways just for commenting. #4 Do you really need another reason?

This card is my submission for IC182. We were to become inspired by book covers. I chose these covers.
I used Thickers chipboard alphabet stickers. I thought about keeping them a kraft color. Then I outlined them with white gel pen... not a good move at 1 AM. Then I decided to color them all white with gel pen as a primer, and color over them with a Bic permanent marker. I then mimicked a tape measure with the hash marks and the numbers.
This will be my husband's Father's Day card. I think he will dig it. :)
OK, so I finally bought the Martha Stewart Circle Cutter at Michael's. I love circles, and I hate having a million circle punches to get a nice looking circle. I started with a Fiskars circle cutter (right) years ago, but it has a part for the center of the circle that touches your paper or picture. If I was using pictures I had printed on my printer, they would get marred by this. Also, the blades were tiny and sometimes hard to change. So, then I bought (left) the Cutter Bee/EK Success (after purchasing several punches from EK Success and Stampin' Up!). Apparently, JoLynn needed an IEP to work it. Just couldn't get it rockin', and it required a glass plate (sold separately) to cut at its best.
Enter, Martha... she was my last hope! Truthfully, and without sarcasm, I knew that, if Martha Stewart produced it, it would probably be high quality. Well, for $14, I FINALLY found a circle cutter that will work for me. Here's a video (that showed me some things I didn't realize!). Please note that I took it out of the package and started using it without needing any sort of aid... three perfect circles right off the bat. It's a good thing. :)
Necessity brought my cardmaking back to me this evening. This card is for my sister-in-law, whose mother passed away this week. I decided to look in to the Featured Stamper's gallery this week for some sketch/color inspiration.
I decided to CASE this card of hers. I liked the colors and the basic design.
