December Daily 2015 - Days 3, 4, and 5

Days 3, 4, and 5 were fun and simple.

I made this card using Ali Edwards Hello Life Boxes, silver foil with stars, a laser printer, cardstock, and a 3M laminator.

We make icosahedron ornaments every year in my classroom.  This year, I was smart enough to create a Silhouette cut file and cut the circles (otherwise, each of my fourth graders had to fussy cit 20 circles...which was a challenge!).  Inside the circles, I created a perforated triangle so they could fold easily.  I documented that cutting 20 circles for 24 kids took FOREVER, but was so worth it.  I used some Starfoam and Tim Holtz stickers to help display a finished product.

Day 4 stresses the ordinary: The crazy hills my hubs will die on, yet not care about other things, and spending my Friday with some amazing teachers in good PD.

I was pretty excited about today's story.  I used Cathy Zielske's Cool Yule No. 4 journaling card to tell how our holiday trip to Target came to be.

 Saturday night relaxation was documented on the next double-page spread.

Project Life: SY2014-15 Part 2

This was a busy winter/spring.  I have no problem taking pictures.  Printing them out and journaling is a little harder for me to keep track of.  That's why the Collect app was a godsend.  It created a 4 x 3 with the date and brief journaling.  I placed them in a 4 x 6 PSD template and sent them to Walgreens.  When I got them back, I cut them and placed them in Becky Higgins Project Life Page Protector Design F.  You will even see a few of her 4 x 3 digital cards in there as well.

Never underestimate the power of stickers to create cards.

Some months had more pages than others. This month included a trip to FSU.  Too bad that did not work out, but all things occur for a reason.

Discovered the InstaWeather app.  Life changer.  It allows you to overlay current weather on a photo.

The larger version of the program had letters from parents and other items.  It did not like staying in an 8.5 x 11 protector.  So I created a ribbon holder for it.

I overpurchased this confetti for the table at graduation.  I thought it would look great on this page.  I used my Fuse to seal the pocket.

Super excited to use the Fuse to seal in his cap and tassel.  I love that I can make it a part of the book.

Used some tint staples to secure the excess.

Again, documenting Ignatius' achievements has been a nice addition to the book.

The choice is made.

Love how the last page turned out.

Project Life: SY2014-15

I realized recently that I had not shared the progress of this album.  I finally had the motivation to finish it up.  I am splitting this post up, however, because this book is quite lengthy.

I started sharing it in this post, so I shall spare additional explanation for the intention or page setups.  I also shared here.  Even though I worked on the album, there was not a whole lot that I shared after that.  So, here is what I created from August 31-the start of January.  The layouts of these pages were driven by the photos I had.  After that, I came into a great layout cadence with the help of the Collect app.  That will be for the next post.  Click on photos for entire layouts.

Loved the use of washi tape arrows on this one.  I am also fond of the color scheme.

One of the few times Halloween did not get full-page real estate.

I took the 30 Days of Thanks concept that I complete on Facebook every year and documented it by creating my own cards.  I then surrounded the card pages with photos from the month and used washi to date what I could.

I began to incorporate the acceptance letters my son was getting from colleges. I think they are kind of a big deal.

December became a bit collage-y, and I even wrote on some of the pics with white gel pen.  Totally unlike me!

 Christmas day gets a few pics.  Used washi for these.

My son's high school photographer included all four years of high school pics in one.  Oh my!

I also included some certificates/awards my son had attained.  Then, January began.

For the spreads in 2015, I used Ali Edwards Hello Life Boxes and created a card that was a quick summary of the month.  Then, I used 3 x 4s from the Collect app to document this portion of the book.  #bestideaever.  My output was phenomenal.  More to come!
